So the other day, Becky told me that she's heard that knitting actually lowers blood pressure. Since I know that SHE is a more than capable practitioner of medicine, I will not challenge her, and believe her words to be true. However...FROGGING IS A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY! Ripping out 12 inches of stitches nearly put me into a stroke! I was thinking of words that I would NEVER dare say aloud! "Oh my! What happened," you say in your wide eyed, tail between the legs voice. Well, I shall tell you. Jessie's Lucy....I knit the wrong strap!!! Instead of knitting the short strap, I knit the OTHER END of the long strap...which would have made one realllllly long strap. Had I kitchener stitched the long strap (instead of thinking I'd wait and do them both at once, this NEVAH would have happened! OHHHH THE HUMANITY! In any case, unhappy camper. So...I kitchener stitched the long strap, and have to start the short strap again. GRRR. Since I'm in whiner mode...I'm doing SOMETHING wrong on my kitchener stitch! I fudged it, but I need to figure out the problemo! [/end rant]
Perhaps the rest of you have seen this, but I just found it today...isn't it cute??? I think I'd do the pumpkin itself in a variegated yarn with a coordinating solid top, but I just thought it was fun. In any case, I don't think I'll have time before Halloween and/or Thanksgiving. October is going to be busy with my block of the month afghan class and felted clog class. Not to mention various Christmas presents I need to get crackin' on! Anyway...It's in the queue if I find time.
I do believe I've mastered the art of walking and knitting...YES...AT THE SAME TIME! Ms. Knitasha and I took a knit-n-walk on the local bike/walking path the other day. We ended up doing about 3.5 miles while knitting the entire time. Just ask the scrawny high school boys that were hittin' on us. Hee hee. Not really...they were just being....well...boys, I guess.
The plan for tonight is to watch the first half of Gone With the Wind (37 years old and I've never seen it) and knit up that short strap on Lucy (grumble, grumble). That's where the Stouffer's Lasgna comes in. After a crazy day of frogging and running errands and playing taxi driver, I decided to throw pre-made, sodium induced high blood pressure into the mix! Don't worry...I'm serving grape tomatoes and cucumber with garlic into the mix as a "side dish."
...the knitting....
If even ONE of you asks to see the Lucy bag, I shall line your Christmas cookies with Ex-Lax. Here's the little chemo cap I'm knitting while walking. Other than a tiny bit of progress on Bizzy's Ice Cream Sundae socks, I have nothing to report....well...I do, but I'm just not ready yet. Have a great next couple of days, and knit like you were dying!
PS...I made two new fiber friends this week...Kate and Jeanne! Glad to have met up with you ladies!

STOP what you are doing!!!!
Elisha showed me this, and I just HAD to show you!!!! LOL with me!!!
Wooly Bullies!!!
I had the nicest morning/early afternoon with Becky at the coffee shop! We had a soy chai each, and then got down to knittin! She was working on Fifi, and I was finishing up my chemo cap....yes, I should have been working on something far more impressive (being with Becky, world renown knitting extraordinaire ), but I really wanted to get it off the needles! Next time we get together I'll be working on Princess Stephanie's wedding gown...fer SURE! Anyway, it was great to hang out and get to know! Since we live within a mile of eachother, we went to the local bean house...SEEEEE?!?!?!?
Yea...fuzzy pics, but we only had our camera phones. Here's an even worse one...
The good news is that I finished my first chemo cap!!! No, no...don't applaud...You know you're just doing it to humor me. In any case, I'm proud of myself...it's my first hat of any kind!!! I have plenty of yarn left, so I need to cast on another chemo cap and keep it for when I'm power walking! Hey Becky...wanna go for a walk?
I will be felting up Jessie's Lucy this weekend, so stay tuned for those pics. I've never met her, but she's a darling young lady who's beat the odds and overcome serious heart conditions to be alive and thriving!
Question: Was anybody else disappointed with the patterns in Knitty's latest issue? I was. Just "so so" kind of stuff...dontcha think? The last issue, IMHO, was much more intriguing!
Thanks for stopping!

Back from the Beach!
Yea, I had these grand plans to knit, knit, knit non-stop on the airplane, in the hotel room, on the beach...(please stand by for the excuses)...but I was having so much fun, I just couldn't sit down long enough to knit, and when I did stop moving, I slept!!! I got a chemo cap started, and about half way done, but that's pretty much the extent of it.
We caught a 6:30 AM flight out of Detroit on Saturday morning, and headed down to Cocoa Beach. Here's a shot from the plane of the sun rising....isn't it purdyful?
Okay...the knitting...Like I said, I started a chemo cap. Yes, I'm ashamed at the lack of accomplishment. HOWEVER, I have a great tan!!! Hee hee!
...and...my cool new gecko stitch markers I got from Sunneshine...
ADDED EDIT: I just did something I've NEVER done before. I went for a two mile walk (started small) at a pretty good speed, and KNIT the entire time. IT CAN BE DONE! I see more exercise in my future!

We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather; It was sunny, hot and spectacular every single day. Our waking hours were spent on the beach playing in the HUGE waves (There was a tropical storm up the coast, and the riptide was incredible), and soaking up the sun, while our evenings were filled with less glamorous adventures like hunting for sand crabs. Ohhhhh yea....WE know how to party!!! The best part was that, for the most part, we had the entire beach to ourselves.
Traveling back was just a teensy bit eerie...it turned out that we were flying home on September 11th. How strange to be at the airport watching the news, and wondering what was going through the minds of all the travelers in that very same spot only six years ago. Apparently, most folks aren't real keen on traveling on the 11th. Including the crew, there were only 21 of us on the Boeing 737.
All in all it was nice to get away and see palm trees and all things tropical. I do, however have a little side commentary I would like to make at this time. People....bikinis are made for bodies that are made for bikinis. I accept that my plump little body should not be shoved into a bikini...WHAT in the world are some of these people THINKING? OMG...I saw more rolls on that beach than any bakery in the land. SHEESH!
