Onward Ho!

Well, Halloween is ovah, and now it's time to get serious about Christmas gifts! After making a pair of the Fiber Trends Felted Clogs, for Bizzy, I've decided to make a few more pairs for presents. They're a fairly easy knit, once you survive the first row, and I think they're darn cute! I used Lopi by Reynolds and they came out pretty fuzzy, but perfect for Biz!

Now...yea, they need a shave, but Biz really likes them all fuzzy and crazy looking.

Next, I make Bear a pair in Knit Picks, Spumoni and Lamb's Pride, Bulky, Rosado Rose.

Block of the Month class is tonight, but I wasn't able to go AND I need to finish up October's block before moving onto November's block. See...just a few more inches to go. It would have been done, but the felted clogs SUCKED me in!

Tomorrow morning I meet with Becky for the weekly Blue Creek Knitting Group. Yes, there are only two of us, but if ANY one of you would just show up, THEN three would equal a GROUP fer sure!

Halloween was last night, and I swore that THIS year, we would ONLY pass out candy. In years past, we've had themes, and light shows, and major planning. LAST year we turned the front porch into a pirate ship.

Well...as the evening approached, my heart started to palpitate, and I got this sick, uneasy feeling in my stomach. I LOVE HALLOWEEN! How could I EVER have thought we could just let this year slide by with nothing but a basket of candy!?!?!?!? NO! NO! ABORT! Turned out that the kids were feeling the same way, SOOOOO at 5 pm (trick-or-treaters would start to arrive in ONE HOUR), Bizzy, Bear and I started pulling out fabric, old costumes, my wedding veil and wedding shoes, and we made the most of it! Bizzy and Bear don't even GO trick-or-treating, but they are such great sports!

So, yea...a ghost, a corpse bride, and a creepy lookin...ME!

Just a Quickie Post!

Loooky what I did last night...all by myself! Woot, woot! I actually started it on Thursday night at the clog class, but ended up frogging everything I did there. I needed peace and quiet to follow the pattern. Then again, walking and chewing gum is still troublesome for me.

I was unfaithful. Oh the shame!

As of this moment, I have not picked up a knitting needle since Friday morning and feel so completely incomplete! I cannot wait to get all of my chores done this morning and get back the needles...ahhh to feel them in my hands. I cheated on the knitting to work on my other little hobby. Don't judge me.

I spent allllll day Saturday (late into the night) and Sunday at
Sauder Village scrapbooking with about 200 other ladies. I really did NOT feel like going, but I had registered and paid for it, so I just couldn't justify throwing money away. Turns out, I'm glad I went. I got lots and lots (haven't counted them yet) of pages done...caught up all the way to June of THIS YEAR! My goal is to finish up the little bit that I have left, and go to completely digital scrapbooking. After all these years, I'm sorta sick of the whole physical cut and paste thing! I'm ready for the change.

It was really nice to see the women whom I only see at these crops once every six months, and get caught up on their families and lives. Only problem is...I ate waaaaaaaay to much down home cookin' (carbs out the wazoo) and feel rather slow and lazy today. Ugh.

Since I have no new fiber on the needles to show you, how about a pic or two of a layout I did? The 12 x 12 pages I make don't fit in the scanner we have, so I had to take a picture of the page with the camera, and then crop it....but you get the general idea. These pages are from Frozentoesen last February at the
Toledo Zoo. I haven't journaled them yet, so that's what those blank spots are.

Other than my weekend of cropping, I really don't have much to report. Going to InsanKnitty tomorrow night, and going to the felted clog class later in the week. Lots of cleaning and organizing to do, so I should probably get busy!

Have a FABULOUS day!

PEACE!

Okay...I'm sorry!

I know, I know. I should have updated eons ago. I will not even try to offer an excuse (Becky's fault), and will only ask forgiveness. Is anybody else having trouble keeping a blog updated, keeping Ravelry updated, knitting, and doing this other thing called life?

...the knitting...
Here's Jessie's Lucy, felted and looking lovely. The colors (Grapes on the Vine) really blended nicely, and I'm so pleased with the final result! Only thing left is to head to Yarn Haven and find the perfect button(s) for it. I saw some last Tuesday that I liked a LOT! Doesn't the bottom of the bag look oh so cool?

I must say, I do prefer the sport weight bag to the worsted weight. It's a really nice size, and perfect for a wallet, cell phone, make-up and yes, banana chips!

Becky turned me onto the Irish Hiking Scarf, so I'm doing one for Ellie using Berraco Comfort in a
Burgundy tone. Now don't turn your nose up....although it's an acrylic blend, this yarn is realllllllllly soft and beautiful! The pattern is slow but steady and perfect for InsanKnitty.

Also, I knit up a hat with
some beautiful yarn that Patti gave me for my bday last April! I think I have enough to make another, too! Pay no attention to the fuzzy pic...I had to use the webcam to snap it, cuz my short, stubby arms aren't long enough to take a self portrait with the digital camera.

Hmmmmmm...let's
see...what else? Ohhh...I know. I started my Block of the Month class at Yarn Haven! OMGoodness...what a riot. If ONLY Barb would show up sober, we may actually get something done! In any case, here's the pattern for October (in progress)! I've decided to do it all in one color: Manos, Putty. I'm going for elegant simplicity! Looky closely...you can kinda see a pattern forming! Shout out to Dale Ann for casting on my 52 in a moment of laziness. LOVE that poncho, Dale!

By the way, bot the Comfort yarn and the Manos were purchased at Yarn Haven...if ya want some of your own!

Since I decided to go with a rather plain color for the BOM afghan, I decided that KnitPicks new Harmony needles would be just what I needed to keep my mojo going throughout the next twelve months! Aren't they coooool?

Okay...quick poll...Is this worsted weight Lucy Bag terribly ugly? Don't spare my feelings....is it? I still need to do the straps, but I'm just wondering if it's ick! I like it, but then again, I still like Rick Springfield...so who knows! Anyway, I think I'll do the straps in red....thoughts? Please don't tell me to do the straps in the tan color, cuz I just don't think I have enough left....nor do I have enough green to do BOTH straps. Hee hee...so tell me to do them in the periwinkle or in red.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Peace!
